## Methodology

Age bands are calculated from incorporation date for companies still present in the official monthly basic-company snapshot and whose full registered-office postcode resolves to London. This is a survival-weighted stock, not a historic formation series: a small old cohort can reflect dissolution, relocation or register coverage as well as company longevity. Registered offices are administrative locations and SIC codes are self-declared.
