## Methodology

ONS London private-rental statistics by postcode district, joined to LondonGraph's nearest-centroid postcode cells. These cells are an analytical tessellation, not Royal Mail boundaries. Readers can select bedroom category, mean, median, quartiles, interquartile range and published sample size; the workbook does not publish an all-bedroom district median. The purposive sample is not composition-adjusted and must not be treated as a rent index; '-' and '..' remain suppressed rather than zero.

## Visualisations

- [Postcode map](https://londongraph.com/g/londons-private-rent-map): Select a bedroom category and published rent statistic for every postcode cell. Caveat: The ONS purposive sample is not composition-adjusted and is not a rent index.
- [Distribution](https://londongraph.com/g/londons-private-rent-map?view=distribution): Inspect the selected postcode statistic around its London median and quartiles. Caveat: Published sample sizes vary by postcode and bedroom category; suppressed values remain absent.
- [Bedroom ladder](https://londongraph.com/g/londons-private-rent-map?view=bedroom-ladder): Compare bedroom-specific median rents within a selected postcode district.
- [Median vs spread](https://londongraph.com/g/londons-private-rent-map?view=price-spread): Compare two-bedroom median rent with the published interquartile range. Caveat: A wider interquartile range describes sample dispersion, not measurement uncertainty.
