## Methodology

Real-time level gauges within 20km of central London from the Environment Agency flood-monitoring API. Each gauge is compared with its own previous reading to give a direction. Levels are relative to each station's own datum, so they are comparable over time at one gauge rather than between gauges.

## Visualisations

- [Map](https://londongraph.com/g/thames-right-now): The river is tidal to Teddington, and it moves several metres twice a day.
- [Gauge values](https://londongraph.com/g/thames-right-now?view=gauge-ranking): Rank the latest levels while keeping each station's local datum explicit. Caveat: Levels are comparable over time at one gauge, not as absolute height between gauges.
