## Methodology

Latest reported income of London-district charities, grouped into bands, shown as each band's share of all charity income. The count runs the other way — most charities are tiny — and the two together are the point: charity is popularly imagined as small, and the money is overwhelmingly institutional. Income is as last reported to the Commission, which for small charities can be several years old.
