Methodology
Department for Education local-authority-funded alternative-provision placement counts. The filled map divides total placements by the all-pupil denominator from the compatible Schools, pupils and their characteristics release; exact counts use details and rankings, not area colour. Placements are not unique pupils and do not measure provision quality.
