Methodology
Department for Education local-authority data by term, across state-funded primary, secondary and special schools. The latest map is explicitly the latest published term rather than an invented annual total; the timeline retains published term counts. Pandemic-affected years require caution, small values may be rounded or suppressed, and rates retain the published pupil denominator.
